Omega Crystal Replacement Or Refinishing

The clear “glass” which safeguards the dial of the timepiece is called a crystal. There are three common kinds of crystals: mineral, acrylic, or sapphire. The sapphire crystal is the most expensive, scratch-resistant and durable type of crystal. Your Omega timepiece crystal can crack from a hard collision or perhaps by dropping the watch on a hard surface. The highly trained watchmakers at the Govberg Watch Repair center can swap nearly any Omega timepiece crystal, or can delicately buff the crystal of your Omega watch to eliminate scratches , bringing it back to its original condition. If you have your Omega timepiece’s crystal swapped or refinished, our experts will perform this process:

Replacing the Crystal:

  • Your Omega watch casing will be disassembled and the movement will be removed to protect it while the glass is being examined
  • The crystal is then cautiously removed from the case
  • Next, our highly trained watchmakers will use the genuine Omega crystal if it is still available
  • If no such crystal can be found, we will fabricate a new crystal for your Omega timepiece. The replacement crystal will be an exact replica of the original
  • Finally, the new crystal will be placed back into the case along with the movement and the timepiece will be subjected to a time test to ensure its accuracy

Refinishing the Crystal:

  • The Omega timepiece’s casing will be disassembled and the movement detached to protect it while the crystal is being refinshed
  • The crystal is then diligently taken out of the case
  • Once taken out, our swiss-trained experts will work to cautiously buff the crystal to remove abrasions or any other blemishes
  • After this portion of the process has been finished and the crystal is refinished, it is reinstalled in the case along with the movement and your Omega timepiece will be given a time test to guarantee its accuracy

I thought the service was very good. I particularly liked the website and manner in which we could "enroll" my watch. I would rate the total service as an "A".

I am very, very happy with your service, and my repaired watch. It was my father’s Hamilton watch dating to the 1950’s and it’s the only thing he owned that I have. So, thank you very much!
Gene O. - Durham, NC

Thank you for the excellent work you did on my wife's watch. I was very pleased with the process and found it user-friendly/simple to understand. The watch works wonderfully and my wife's happiness is the best return I could ask for. We had been told by other jewelry stores that the watch could not be repaired. It's working great and looks beautiful.
