The transparent “glass” which safeguards the dial of your timepiece is called a crystal. There are three basic types of crystals: acrylic, mineral and sapphire. A sapphire crystal is the most expensive, scratch-resistant and strong kind of crystal. Your Bell and Ross watch crystal can shatter from a hard collision or possibly from dropping the timepiece on a hard surface. The swiss-trained experts at the Govberg Watch Repair center can swap nearly any Bell and Ross timepiece crystal, or can delicately buff the crystal of your Bell and Ross timepiece to get rid of ugly abrasions , restoring it to its original condition. When you have your Bell and Ross watch’s crystal swapped or refinished, our highly trained will perform this process:

Crystal Replacement:

  • Your Bell and Ross watch case will be disassembled and the movement will be removed to protect it while the crystal is being worked on
  • The crystal is then carefully taken from the casing
  • Afterwards, our swiss-trained experts will use the authentic Bell and Ross crystal whenever possible
  • If the crystal is no longer available, we will custom make a replacement crystal for your Bell and Ross timepiece. The new crystal will be an exact replica of the original
  • Next, the new crystal will be reinstalled along with the movement and the timepiece will be subjected to a time test to ensure its precision

Refinishing the Crystal:

  • The Bell and Ross watch’s case will be taken apart and the movement detached in order to it while the crystal is undergoing repair
  • The crystal is then delicately taken out of the case
  • Once removed, our highly trained watchmakers will work to cautiously buff the crystal to remove abrasions or other blemishes
  • After this step has been completed and the crystal is refinished, it will be replaced in the case along with the movement and your Bell and Ross watch will be given a time test to ensure its accuracy

Brett and team- Wow! You guys have done a fantastic job on the repair of my Rolex. That watch was in a safe deposit box for 15 years before I was able to get hold of it from family and, as you guys know, not in very good shape. It took me about 2 years to find someone that would work on an early 50's model and when I first did find someone the repair quote was outrageous. You guys reasonably priced the work and provided several options that helped me get the necessary repairs done but also offered some enhancements that I would not have considered otherwise. I have another vintage Rolex I would like to get reworked and I will absolutely send it to you guys. Needless to say, I will be using you guys for any future watch needs I might have.
